Among the significant takeaways from an MBA, career outcome is of top priority. Many heading to an MBA program look at it as the best and fastest way to rise up the ranks and have access to senior management opportunities.
If that’s the case, why shouldn’t we judge a business school by its ability to help students achieve the career progression they desire? According to GMAC Prospective Students Survey 2025, career outcome is among the two top aspects considered by candidates while researching and shortlisting business schools.
In fact, the Financial Times (FT) global MBA ranking does just that. In addition to the main ranking, it also includes a ranking for various other criteria, including a ranking for career progression.
The FT career progress rank is calculated taking into consideration changes in the level of seniority and the organization size alumni work in now, compared to that before their MBA.
