Discount one top school from your school list and invest that application fee money in MBA MAP.”

I have just completed my MAP with Sameer and am glad to share that I feel more confident of my strategy for the apps. Even though you know what to do post mba, it is of utmost importance to understand how to link it with pre mba experience. Thanks Sameer for your valuable insights. I will keep you all updated about my journey , as right now I have so much home work to do

Trivia: As a senior moderator on GMAT Club, Gurpreet regularly mentors newbie members. He is more than familiar with all the free information available on public forums. But he still saw value in the MBA MAP and signed up with us.

MBA MAP is a unique tool that makes you experience, in a miniature way, the kind of rigor that is required for MBA applications. I must say the experience has been a real eye opener for me. Sameer’s questions are precise, thought provoking and ‘will wake you up from the slumber’ and test your resolve as you decide to undertake the challenging journey of MBA admissions. The insights Sameer brings, owing to his real life experiences, are very useful practical pictures of the ‘real scene’. Great tool and great value for money – but like everything else, the better prepared you are for the process the more value you will get out of it. Totally recommend this product for all aspiring MBAs who want to get their stories ironed out before the real applications.

I completed my MAP yesterday. Very insightful and worth every rupee I paid. I can give only one advice to others : Discount one top school from your school list and invest that application fee money in MAP. Your chances of getting accepted in other dream schools will increase for sure!!!

Verdict: Awesome and 5 stars and totally a value for your money.

I contacted MBA Crystal Ball for help with my admission essays. Sameer recommended that I take the MBA MAP and I have to say that the MBA MAP profile evaluation is a must for people starting out to apply to B schools. Choosing schools, forming a storyline, deciding what you want to do post MBA and in the long term is a very daunting task and MBA MAP is very useful not only in offering you a comprehensive list of schools to choose from, but also in clarifying lots of things that one may not really think about.
The call with Sameer went beyond the official scope of the MAP to address all my queries, helped me understand where I stood, offered me advice about what I could do and what I should do. This helped me Bridge gaps between my earlier ideas and helped me get a realistic perspective about where I stood and what chances I had. It also helped me shortlist schools that would be practical for me.
Verdict: Awesome and 5 stars and totally a value for your money ^^

Trivia: Vijay worked with us for his applications as well and got admits from Kelley and UC Irvine Merage (Rs 15 Lakh scholarship). Read the details on the reviews page.

‎”A good coach will take extra time with those who need it Moreover, A good coach will find the best in each player.
It won’t be hyperbole if I depict Sameer in the above lines. MBA MAP is worth the money. You will come to know your strengths, weaknesses and improvement areas with this service. This helps the applicant prepare effectively before writing the first word of your essay. I truly recommend this service to every serious applicant! MBA Crystal Ball, you’re worth it!

Trivia: Ajay signed up for a multi-school package after completing the MBA MAP and got into ALL schools he applied to, with scholarships ranging from partial to full scholarship (valued at approx Rs 40 lakhs). Read his testimonial on the reviews page.

Does a real a good job of clearing up your head, giving a direction and pertinent points to improve.

MAP process is a must for anyone who has unclear strategy going into the admission process. What I found extremely useful during the whole process were the discussions I had with Sameer regarding my choice of schools, goals and weaknesses in my overall profile.

Vartika Vats
MBA map from MBA crystal ball is very unique, it helped me in shortlisting of universities. Also the brainstorming session was very useful and answered all my doubts. Now I am more clear about how to go about the whole process.

Trivia: After the MAP, Vartika worked with us for interview prep and got an admit from Emory Goizueta with a scholarship of 10,000 per semester (adding up to about Rs 20 lakhs for the full program).

I took up MBA MAP process with MBACrystalBall and it really gave me a realistic perspective of the admissions process.
It helped me answer a lot of questions and made me think on things such as why do I want to do an MBA and how B schools take a more holistic approach. Also a big list of schools and where does my profile stands among them is of tremendous help.
I really liked sameer’s honest opinion on my candidacy.
Thanks Sameer, am starting off with my essays now, hoping everything goes well.

A very useful trial round of the application process before the real deal.

A good starting point and an even better platform to plan for the process of MBA. Sameer does a real a good job of clearing up your head, giving a direction and pertinent points to improve. Worth it.

It has been long since I started my application process. Now as it is nearing its end, I felt like writing a testimonial for MBA MAP, the first step in my application process. MBA crystal ball is like a guiding angel for the group of confused applicants to which I belong :).

MBA MAP has a very well laid out framework, akin to a B school application. It will assess your profile, your goals and your motivation to do an MBA. Then it will identify the shortcomings, strengths and give you clarity for the application journey.

The best thing about the program is that it is not just looking to get you an admission. In fact, it makes one question themselves whether MBA is a right career choice. And if it is, where you will be 5 years post MBA. It makes sure that we don’t fall under the burden of the heavy investment that we are planning to make.

Thanks to Sameer for leading this program and for his guidance!

Trivia: Using the strategies from the MBA MAP, Rohit got admits from 5 schools. He chose NUS. On our blog you’ll find his NUS Singapore MBA story.

Statutory warning: During the Interview Sameer is going to bombard you with questions

Madhura Kale

Preparing for my MBA applications, I spent a lot of time researching on the internet on what information I needed to prepare about myself to write in the essays, but I never picked up a paper and pen to actually write down those things. The MAP helped me do that. It was a process of introspection and critical self-analysis, along with being a very useful trial round of the application process before the real deal comes. Thanks MBA Crystal Ball!

Before you hit the actual MBA ground you should consider net practicing with MBA MAP. Sameer Kamat is a good coach and he helps you to get your basics right. Overall, I found MBA MAP a good way of understanding “What comes next?” question. If you are like me, you will take some beating from crude tech savvy like person to a better MBA gem like person. Submission of initial MAP questions allows you to self asses many aspects, pre MAP interview and its analysis helps you to sort out the missing pieces of puzzle, the report(which I am going to carry for a long time) is going to help you sort colleges and check for to-dos constantly, post MAP and FAQs helps you re-check your goals and frees you from any doubts. Overall its a great idea and worth every penny.

Arindam Bhattacharyya
On the MBA Crystal Ball site I read a lot about MAP and wanted to experience it. I called Sameer and after the initial discussion with him I enrolled for the MAP. The whole experience was an eye opener as I got to know where do I stand with my experience and GMAT score. The most exciting part was the Interview.
Statutory warning: “During the Interview Sameer is going to bombard you with questions”.
Post interview analysis was as again a high point of MAP. I received a exhaustive list of colleges that I can apply to and what could be my story line. I would recommend MAP for all those who are still undecided about colleges and wants to do a reality check on themselves.

You will go in for each interview as a confident and composed candidate.

Prashanta Chettri
The Mock MAP process provided by MBA Crystal Ball is a really helpful tool for all prospective MBA candidates. It really helped me solidify my overall “MBA story”. The profile evaluation, mock interview and subsequent feedback session enabled me to answer three key questions:
1. Why did I want to do an MBA?
2. Is an MBA right for me?(based on my answer to the first question)
3. What do I want to do after my MBA and how does my MBA fit into that picture?
Answering these questions and getting personal feedback from Sameer prepared me not only to write to my application essays but also for my interviews. Whilst essay editing services are all well and good, the Mock MAP process is for people who want to get the foundations right. Once the foundation for my MBA story was strong, I could write my essays and attend interviews with confidence without any guide from any admission consultants. I am yet to attend interviews for some more colleges but from the few I have already attended I can vouch for the fact that you will go in for each interview as a confident and composed candidate, who is sure about why he/she wants to do an MBA(and trust me that counts a lot!)

Even with weeks of research you still wont be able to achieve what MBA MAP does.

Sony Philip John

Even with weeks of research you still wont be able to achieve what MBA MAP does in terms of which schools to target and what are your chances. The insights that Sameer has into every aspect of MBA admissions is very valuable. The MBA MAP also helps to dispel myths and assumptions you may have about the entire admissions process that you simply can’t do on your own. I’d say that after going through the MBA MAP myself I now know where I stand, what schools to target and how to attack my essays.

Parul Sharma
The MBA MAP reporting activity with Sameer has helped me choose my schools and strategies, Sameer is a great mentor and i think the best admission consultant in India. He helped me clearly outline my goals, acquainted me with my weakness and helped me recognize my strengths which I overlooked earlier. In the information age where numerous sites and blog give you too much information about B schools, its essential to determine which source to rely upon and listen too. I choose Sameer because he has gone through the grind himself and understands the situation prospective students are in. He is able to guide and correct student not just for their MBA goals but also the post MBA goal. I found the whole activity of filling up the questionnaire, giving the interviewing and the final discussion enlightening. I recommend it to any B school applicant whose looking for guidance and support from the right source.

I have been thinking about getting my MBA degree now for a while and thus have combed the internet, checking up on websites of Top Business Schools, looking at other websites offering advice on how to apply and get admitted at these top schools. I have equally talked to a few other admissions consultants but I must say, each time I talked to Sameer I’ve gotten a lot of valuable information and insight into the whole MBA application process, information that is not found on any of these schools websites or any other websites out there for that matter. Information that only an experienced and knowledgeable consultant like Sameer can have. After speaking to Sameer I feel confident that all I’ve got what it takes and know how to go about applying to and get admitted into one of the top business schools. I’ll gladly recommend MCB to anybody thinking about applying to Bschools. Thanks Sameer.

Thumbs Up…Note that I have gone through few other services before coming across MBA Crystal Ball.

Mayur Agarwal
Can I get into Wharton? Which colleges should I apply to? Many questions like these were answered in the call with Sameer. The great part of the call was he made me think about and answered questions that I did not even had in my mind. Question like what admission committee seeks in a candidate, thinking about colleges from more than the ranking perspective, thinking about post MBA job possibility? He played a huge role in clearing my thoughts. Anyone starting to think about an MBA or starting application process has a Thumbs Up from my side for MBA Crystal Ball services. Note that I have gone through few other services before coming across MBA Crystal Ball.

MCB MAP not only helped me to assess where I stand as a candidate, it also helped me to shortlist he colleges. The mock interview with Sameer was helpful and an eye opener too. Sameer was always there to clarify my tons of doubts, I do feel more confident and more ready for my next steps.. Thanks a lot.

MBA Crystal Ball MAP was helpful with college selection and giving more clarity on the path toward getting an MBA. The mock interview was also a good practice. Thank you so much !!

MBA Crystal Ball MAP proves useful in saving money & time spent on school application. The allround approach of MAP including essays & interview, brings out your current position vis-a-vis other candidates. It brings out specific areas of improvement, and in the wrap-up call Sameer talks about specific solutions for improvement.
I had made school selection, and MAP helped me to solidfy my application. I feel more confident now in reaching the top-notch schools I aim for.

The mock interview pushed me to think and then rethink my Why-MBA story.

Naveen H. Venkatesh
MBA Crystal Ball MAP was a really useful tool for me. I was just beginning my MBA journey and did not know where to begin. I also did not know where i stood as an applicant. What the MAP did was take me through the entire journey and also showed me where i was in the applicant pool. The mock interview pushed me to think and then rethink my Why-MBA story. Finally, the wrap up call clarified most of my doubts. I can now focus on my MBA story with a little more conviction and aim for schools which are perfect fit for my profile. Thanks MCB for making my MBAPrep life that much easier.

Everyone who is finished with the GMAT will tell you that it is the easiest (at least the most straight forward) step in the B school application journey. After that, starts school research and judging which schools to apply to. After my GMAT, I was in dire need of some real time assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of my profile and wanted help on my overall application approach. This is where the MAP process of MBA crystal ball has given me a very good idea of my candidacy and has streamlined my application strategy. Overall, a good headstart in the application marathon. Thank You, Sameer.

It showed me a fair idea of where I stand taking EVERY element of my profile into account.

Adriel Fred
Though the idea is simple the MBA-MAP is a real boon to MBA-applicants. It showed me a fair idea of where I stand taking EVERY element of my profile into account especially the Essays,Resume and the pre-MBA call which I think is something very unique to MCB. It gave me a fair idea of the odds of getting into almost a 100-B schools, thereby making life easy in terms of University shortlisting. There were also some real life personalized examples which added a lot more credibility and perspective to the brainstorming process. Overall MCB thanks Great Job!.

Shreya Kundu
MCB’s MAP was an eye opener for me too. It gave a me a lot of insight about the process of how a B school would like to select its future candidate. Sameer’s feedback on the interview was very candid which has given me a lot of confidence and the know how to start with the application and essay writing process. What I liked the most was the proactiveness with which Sameer did the entire process. I am glad that I went through the process because now I feel more equipped.

Sayantan Pal
MCB’s Mock application process a great way to kickstart your MBA application process. The one thing that really helped me through the MAP apart from Sameer’s insight into the application process was his unbiased and frank opinion about my profile. The overall report has been an eye opener for me, it has helped me pinpoint areas where i need to buckle up. Overall i was very pleased with the process and really appreciate the innovative approach of MAP which helps one know where he stands in the application process. Long story short….thanks Sameer and keep the good work going…all the best 🙂

Trivia: Sayantan is currently attending the Mays MBA and is also addressing queries about the program on our Mays MBA forum.

The entire Mock Application Process was an eye-opener for me and I really appreciate Sameer for his honest and insightful views that gave the much needed form and direction to my MBA application. To be frank, initially i thought the MCB report will just help me in school selection; however it turned out to be much more that. Apart from understanding the rationale behind the schools classification, Sameer gave me valuable advice on how to achieve clarity in your goals and rise beyond the cliches with respect to regular B school questions.I now feel much confident and self-aware.Last but not the least, Sameer’s unflinching commitment to the value of this service is indeed commendable. So, if you really want an unbiased assessment and sound advice to kickstart your MBA application, Sameer is your man!

…helped me to build a powerful story line for the admissions.

Aparna TA

Had a very informative MAP session with Sameer. He clearly laid out the framework. Made me understand a lot of stuff that i clearly overlooked and wasn’t prepared for. Anyone who has a vague idea or not sure about the process. Sign up. Its worth the time and investment.

Raj Bharat

MBA MAP-definitely helped me on several aspects – helping choose the right school, building a strong story line for the application and backing it up in the reco’s. In addition, Sameer answered all my questions very patiently during the wrap up call and cleared my doubts. He was eager in helping me to build a powerful story line for the admissions, as I dint have much alternatives. The whole exercise will not only help one decide the right school, but will also bring the best story line to the table. In all, I MBA MAP does what it promises. A Big Thank you to Sameer.

helped me find out the loop holes in my MBA story and offered constructive suggestions for plugging them.

Meenu Birla

MBA MAP will help you not only by evaluating your candidacy from the perspective of an Adcom but also by refining application to a deliverable level. When I started with MAP I was very confused about my goals (both on paper and real life). But the conversations with Sameer and homework, which he asked me to do, helped me to draw a clear picture. He helped me find out the loop holes in my MBA story and offered constructive suggestions for plugging them. By the end of the wrap-up call, I was in the position to move ahead with my application confidently. MBA MAP is highly recommended for those who seek clearance with their goals.

Jeet Paricha

A small note of appreciation for Sameer for the excellent work on the MBA MAP. I completed my MAP process less than 24hours ago and I am excited to share my experience. First of all a big thanks to Sameer for being patient, I had a break of almost 6 weeks, with absolutely no communication, between my MBA Report and the wrap-up call. One can see the passion behind the work done by Sameer. There is absolutely no money motive involved anywhere in the process. In fact I did ask Sameer about why does he not market MCB and the MAP as aggressively as some other consultants out there in the business market their product(s), and the answer had one thing written all over it – Quality over Quantity. I got to know, through the MBA MAP Process and through ‘Beyond the MBA Hype’ things which no school mentions on it’s website – The Real MBA. There could not have been an apt title for a book as ‘ Beyond the MBA Hype’. However for me the stand-out factor, read USP if you may like, in my experience was the honest assessment of my story line and my goals and how it fits in the larger picture, i.e. extending the story well beyond MBA and how it will / can shape my career. I can say this with conviction because based on my previous experience with an international MBA admissions consultant, yes bold caps italic, this SWOT technique, if I may term it so, was clearly lacking. Such clarity of purpose makes me a more confident applicant, if not better. However, the only regret with the entire process is that I could not find Sameer and his breakthrough MBA MAP process 12 months earlier. However, I am glad I did it this time around. I would highly recommend MAP to every GMAT applicant; and to the demographically stereotyped applicant pool, it’s an essential check list in the MBA application process.

Through the interview process, I got to know what questions I should expect from the AdCom

Ketaki Gulavani

I completed my MBA MAP recently and definitely it was a great experience. It helped me connect the dots which were missing in my MBA application. Through the interview process, I got to know what questions I should expect from the AdCom. Most importantly it made me realize where I stand in the application process and what all things I will need to improve upon to strengthen my application. MBA MAP helped me clearly understand the useful factors in choosing the schools. Feedback from Sameer has aided me in aligning my thinking process with all the aspects of the application while drafting my essays. Kudos to Sameer and Team! I would recommend all the MBA aspirants to give MBA MAP a shot so as to develop a clear line of thinking before initiating your applications.

Deepak Ramamurthy

I have completed my MBA MAP and enjoyed every moment of the process. I was very overwhelmed with everything after taking up my GMAT. This entire experience has given me a very good perspective on how to build a strong application. My story for MBA has definitely strengthened after this experience. Sameer was very helpful in patiently clearing every clarification of mine. The fact I liked very much was that I was asked for feedback at the end of the final wrap up call and then knowing I still had a few concerns, more time was spent to clarify those. Will recommend it to anyone who wants clarity of thought before the application process.

There were several ‘gaping’ holes in my essays, which Sameer pointed out and explained very logically.

Susheel Kumar

I completed my MBA MAP yesterday and I couldn’t be more satisfied. This assessment is designed to be a reality check for anyone planning to apply for their MBA. The entire approach is very analytical and extremely rigorous. For instance, there were several ‘gaping’ holes in my essays, which Sameer pointed out and explained very logically. MAP has helped me think deeply about a cohesive storyline that answers vital questions both for applications and personal evaluation. Sameer, thank you very much for the very insightful (and patient ;))conversations during my assessment and wrap up calls !!

I would certainly recommend this to anyone considering applying to great B-Schools. If you think that taking a mock GMAT, before the actual exam, is important, then please ask yourself this simple question. “Before applying, would you like your story to be thoroughly evaluated by someone who has helped several applicants get into the best b-schools around the world?”

Prudhvi Varma Datla

I recently underwent MBA MAP exercise and it turned out very helpful than I expected it to be. It helped me in becoming aware of blind alleys in my stories for essays and in drafting a strong baseline story, which you could improvise latter with minor adjustments for various schools. Also, with the insights from conversations with Sameer, I could now easily chart my professional career and fit MBA into it. For people with little resources for making decision on the whole MBA thing, MAP will be a good starting point by providing you the required framework and information.

Vinayak Viswanath

Before beginning my applications I really wanted a good evaluation of my profile in relation to the different B Schools. Am i good enough for the best? Or am I being too conservative? The MBA MAP provides this reference point, and very clearly highlights what are some of the areas to strengthen an application. It also gave me access to information that is not typically found on school websites. This is a great value addition and the MAP is really worth a shot.

Paritosh Tiwari

I completed my MBA MAP last week and to put it simply, it was an experience worth having. After my GMAT, I was completely clueless on the way ahead and was searching for something to point me in the right direction. The MBA MAP process did just that and then some more. Unless you hear yourself speak, you will never know how you are coming across to a third person. I had prepared a bit before my first call with Sameer, but only after the call I realized the points which were missing from my story and the points which could be strengthened. Sameer provided some interesting insights and straightforward pointers on improving my story and by the end of the wrap up call, my thought process for applications was pretty much in good shape. More than anything else, it provided me with the confidence that I can effectively put across my point of view to a third person. One more thing which I personally liked was that there was no hand holding. Sameer will ask you to do your own research and will then help you refine it. In short, MBA MAP is actually like the MAP you get in video games. It will tell you where the obstacles are and where are the hidden treasures, but it’s the player who has to make the effort to get to the final boss fight. I will highly recommend it any MBA aspirant.
