Course information and teaching methodology?

RMIT’s online postgraduate degrees are specifically designed for a perfect online study experience.

The content is industry focussed and created by specialist online learning designers and top academics so that students can effectively be engaged.

Students also get a chance to interact with their peers through online chats and course-based discussion groups.

RMIT’s online program offers a flexible study plan that would conveniently fit into the daily schedule. The content can be accessed from any device with an internet connection, either from home or while travelling.

Students would be able to obtain an international qualification at a competitive price. They would receive the same qualification that they’d have received if they were to study on-campus.

Since the course participants would be working while studying, they’d be able to make practical application of the knowledge they obtain.

The course is divided into time-based blocks, thus, offering students seven week study periods to complete one unit. Students can complete six study periods in a year’s time.

There are six intakes in a year, so students have a choice and can get enrolled whenever it suits their schedule. The intakes are in January, March, May, July, August and October.

During each intake, students can focus on one course at a time and complete the course during the seven week study period.

There are no formal exams, however students would be assessed based on their involvement in case studies, participation in online discussions and engagement.

Students would be allotted a personal study advisor who’d be available for any guidance they’d need throughout their entire course journey, right from the time they enrol till the time they graduate.

Application process and costs

While applying, applicants need to produce their academic transcripts.

Students can also enquire if they’re eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) options where their prior work and life experiences and qualification would be taken into account and assessed.

Those eligible may earn credits which could reduce the number of courses they need to take.

The fee is $4,120 per course and there are in total 12 courses (8 core + 4 electives). The total cost of program completion would depend upon the number of courses the student would be taking.

Rankings

RMIT has a 5-star QS ranking for Excellence in Higher Education. This ranking has been based on the criteria that graduates from RMIT have an international reputation of being highly skilled and employable.

It has also been ranked 37th worldwide for the international profile of academic staff.

RMIT’s online MBA ranked 14th in the world (Global CEO Magazine 2017), what we have now is redesigned MBA, so I think it will need to be re-ranked in the future.

Curriculum

The program has four concentrations including Design Thinking, Technology and Innovation, Leadership, and Project Management.

Every course contains a variety of components including video, text-based content and animations.

All study material is delivered 100% online through the RMIT Online learning environment.

There is also a discussion board and online forum for students to connect and collaborate. Thus there is an interactive environment and active participation from students from around the world.

The RMIT Online MBA emphasizes practicalities and skills to be applied immediately to the real work issues.

The course provides intensive learning through various methodologies including case studies, report generation and interactive online discussion.

Course Duration

It would take two years on a part time basis for completion of Masters degree.

For those who’re unable to dedicate two years, there are other options available – the graduate certificate can be earned in eight months while the graduate diploma would take 16 months to complete.
