Question on Quora:
Is it better to pursue an MS/MTech or an MBA after studying engineering?
My response:

At MBA Crystal Ball we get a fair share of queries from folks who are in this situation i.e. just graduated and putting the two degrees in the ring to battle it out to see which one wins.

There's also a rising number of MS grads who want to take up an MBA after a few years of technical work.

But if you ask me, it's an apple-to-orange comparison. One is not an alternative to the other.

For folks in India who are graduating (or have graduated recently) the comparison is generally between an Indian 2-year MBA vs an MS.

It'll be too early for you to consider an international MBA. But an MS is definitely an option. And so is a conventional Indian MBA program.

If you are utterly confused about which one to choose, it's a sign from above that you shouldn't choose either at this stage.

Get some good work experience and let the haziness slowly go away. When you have some corporate exposure for a few years, you'll realize which way you want to take your career.

For now, try not to get too influenced by the decisions taken by your peers.
