Hi chaleizone, Vikrant, and Palls20,

Your queries are very specific. I would suggest that if possible get in touch with some current students. They should be able to help you out. You can find them on linkedIn. Or you can call the admissions office and request them to connect with students.

Also, there is an active thread going on in PagalGuy. You can post queries over there.

Best of luck

Hello,
I'm struggling with the ROI question and whether I'm being financially stupid by jumping into a 1 year MBA program from IIMC or others.

I have 17 years of experience in software product development companies. My current role is a senior engineer and working towards first level software development manager.

Post MBA I want to pursue either a Product Management role or an appropriate senior role in startups or mid size product companies.

Currently, I'm in US and have an option to take an internal transfer. The package is likely to be very attractive (35 lacs + 15 lacs RSUs). I'm wondering whether I'll be making a mistake by forgoing this in favor of MBA. What should I expect to get Post MBA? What about 2-3 years down the line? At this stage of life, the financial angle is important for me :)

I have no doubts about the learning that I will gain from MBA, just the financial part is what I'm trying to make sense of.

Thanks

Hi,

As usual I have few questions..

Firstly, about me: I owe a BCA degree from BIT Mesra, currently working with one of the top IT company in India and pursuing MS in SW Engg from BITS and at the same time I am working on project. I want to do executive MBA from either from ISB or IIMs.

The questions being:
1. What should be the good academic CGPA to be good to clear the academic criteria of the MBA institutions?
2.What kind of recommendations are required from employer side.

Thanks & Regards,
MK

Dear Counselor,

I am a Indian Armed forces Officer, serving in Indian Navy as a Technical Officer. Below mentioned are my credentials:
1. GMAT score(given only once) : 640
2. Education qual. : B. TEch(Mech), Post Graduation(IIT Delhi)
3. Work experience: 10 years
4. Retiring as a Short service commissioned officer in 2015.

I want to apply for 2015-16 one year PGPX courses at IIMB, IIMC, and ISB. Not IIMA considering my low GMAT score (as per my knowledge i will not make a cut for the interviews at IIMA,as they prefer 700+ score, please correct me if i am wrong)

Can you please advise me whether to retake GMAT or go ahead with my applications. If I give GMAT again i will not be able to apply for 2015-16 batch and I will loose one year, as I have not started preparing for my applications for any school. Do i still have a chance for entry to the above mentioned institutes.

Regards,

Lt Cdr Varun Sharma

The website says that announcement of shortlisted candidates will happen in second half of September. Does anyone know the date when it may happen?

Hi I have done B.E and currently working in the IT industry with 5.5 yrs of experience.I have already written the GMAT once but the scores weren't good enough at all.Now I have decided to appear for GMAT once again. Can you please tell me what is the average GMAT score which will have a good chance to get me into the IIMC-PGPEX programme.
My academics are
10th- 81%
12th- 76th %
B.E- 61%

My engineering marks being on the lower side, will it be an issue towards my application to IIMC-PGPEX
