Free GMAT Practice Tests

Free GMAT practice tests are a great way to check how close you are to your target GMAT score. Many of the leading GMAT preparation companies offer free GMAT practice tests that you can take either online or offline (i.e download the GMAT software on your computer first).
MBA Crystal Ball
This is more like a primer really for those who are just getting started on the GMAT prep journey. It has only a handful of sample questions (and links to detailed explanations) as opposed to being a full-length test. So if you want to spend around 20 minutes to get an idea of what's in store, this is the one you should start with.

After you've had a chance to polish your GMAT syllabus concepts, you could move on to the bigger, full-length GMAT tests. Here's a list to get you up to speed.
GMATPrep Software
GMAC, the creators of the GMAT, offer 2 free tests that are considered to be the best in the business. Why? They include actual GMAT questions that have been 'retired'. So it's as good as the original to in terms of level of difficulty and the scoring pattern.

Manhattan GMAT
Well respected in the test prep world for their study material, the Manhattan GMAT team also offers a test series for practice. apart from the paid tests, they allow applicants to test drive their offerings by giving away a free practice test.

Princeton Review
Another company whose printed material (GMAT books) have conventionally been more popular than their online courses mainly due to the price differential. Princeton review content is generally preferred by folks who are just starting out. So the level of difficulty is considered to be lower than its competitors. Take their free test and decide for yourself.

Veritas Prep
Apart from GMAT prep material, Veritas Prep is also quite active in the admissions consulting space. And going with the regular practice in the industry, they offer a free ride with one practice test.

Knewton
The new kids on the block have been growing in popularity for their online MBA test prep course. They offer a diagnostic GMAT test you can use before you start their course. The best part - you don't have to pay anything to take the diagnostic test.

GMAT test on Business School sites
Knowing the importance of the score in MBA applications, several bschools have also started including free GMAT tests for online practice on their website.
UCLA, LBS and Babson MBA sites offer it in 3 varieties (Micro test | Mini test | Full test)

The fine-print here is that the questions hosted on these (and possibly several others) bschool websites are provided by the Economist GMAT Tutor team. Nice marketing tactic!
