Your research about the various options has already given you some gut feel. I'll build up on that.

The advantage you have over others with a similar dilemma is that your immediate career goal (joining your family business) is clear.

Assuming your dad won't mind that you don't have a top university brand on your CV yet, I'd suggest diving into it immediately.

Once you get a grip of how it works overall, take charge of one specific area (like a regular employee), do a good job with it, and take on another area after that.

If you enjoy what you are doing, you won't realise how soon 2-3 years will pass. And you'll have a strong profile for the top global business schools too.

Hi, I am Avik Kohli. I was planning to do my MBA from abroad earlier. Realising that my 1 year of work experience is not sufficient to get admitted into a good MBA college I have now decided to pursue MiM. I just wanted to know what is the job requirement in the U.S. market for MiM graduates? I am not planning to return to India after my post grad.

MiM is a relatively new degree in the US, not as mature as the regular MBA or even the other traditional Masters (MS) degrees. Your market value will be riding a lot on the credibility of the parent university.

This may help: MBA vs Masters in Management

While that's the optimal 'best case scenario' for most, given all the uncertainty that surrounds the overseas job market, do ensure that you have backup options in place.

Hello sir.
I am confused about choosing my career path.
I have completed my B.E. in Mechanical Engineering in the year 2013 from one of the average colleges. Immediately after my graduation though i had a few job offers in my technical field i could not work there for more than a couple of months, the reason being the lack of my desired work atmosphere and interest. I quit those jobs having thought that i will get one which i correctly fit into. But no. It was hard. I tried applying to many companies. I was repeatedly told that the mechanical engineering job market is hit and wasn't given any opportunity.
So i decided to try a M.Tech. Prepared and wrote the entrance exams. Couldn't manage to get a good college nor a course of my interest. So i thought of re applying for jobs again. It was already one year past my graduation. So more difficulty to cover up my one year of joblessness. Ended up finding no job. Now, i decided to apply for masters abroad. I chose Germany as my destination since it is a mechanical hub. I prepared and wrote the required exams (GRE and IELTS). Got good scores. Applied for the universities where i was more probable to get a seat for my profile. Now i have got 2 admits for MS. Both universities are of tier2/tier3 levels. One is offering a technical course(MS in Mechanical Engineering). The other one is offering a technical+management course (MS in International Business and Engineering). I spent a year to get these 2 admits from Germany. Now i have lost 2years after my graduation. Still keeping my hopes alive i was floating my resume everywhere. Fortunately i got an interview call. I cleared 2 rounds of interviews and now i have a job in my hand. Surprisingly again i have cleared an entrance exam for M.Tech and this time got a good college and the course of my interest. Now i have three options: 1. MS in Germany. 2. M.Tech. 3. Job. But, i am confused of whether to go with the job or to take up masters. Please suggest me. If you suggest me to go with the masters then please help me pick the better course out of the two..one being purely technical and other one being technical+management course. Please tell me separately how they both will help me in my career later.
I want to see myself settled in a couple of years and i am interested working both in technical as well as management sectors. I look forward to come back to India after working in Germany for a year or so. Please suggest me and help me make a wise decision.
Thank you.

I'd pick the job.

Reasons:

- Your end goal was to get a job, not a degree. Now that you have a job after waiting for so long, it would be unwise to leave it.

- You plan to get back to India for a job after working for a year Germany. The big uncertainty is around whether you'll get a job in Germany in the first place.

Take the job, buddy, and get your career going.

Cranfield:
- Pros: It has a strong reputation in SCM and Logistics. And it can give you access to the UK job market.
- Cons: Expensive. Plus you'll have to overcome the UK work permit hurdle.

NITIE:
- Pros: Cost effective, Better RoI, known brand in India
- Cons: Say bye bye to an international career.

If you have the financial strength to afford it and the mental strength to tackle the risks, I'd choose Cranfield.

Dear sir, I am a 2nd year BMS student. I would like to know the difference between Masters in Marketing and MBA (Marketing). Is work experience a must to apply for Masters in Marketing, since I am planning to move soon after grad? What's the job prospect (long-term with a view of obtaining PR) for Masters in Marketing in Australia? Which are the best universities in the country for masters (marketing)? Alternatively, is Masters in Management (MiM) a good option too? Thank you
