Currently i am working in Nokia , i did my schooling from DPS , after 12 th went for C.A and cleared my CPT in first attempt , with that i enrolled for B.Com from Delhi university .
But things didn't went as planned as i had to drop C.A in between , i am 22 now and have been working after my 12 th and have got a 3 year of experience . I have currenlty applied for a distance MBA from IGONU and symbiosis and i am currently looking to give my carrer a boost , but i dont want the same thing that has happened before .
i have some expirence in business as well , i am thinking of preparing for GMAT over CAT as i am bad at maths and had maths only till 10th .
Should stick with my job and a distance Mba or should i give GMAT a shot .
kindly suggest a road map , which will help me in future .
regards ,
Shivaansh

I am working as business analyst in IT firm with 5 years of total experience. ( 2 years in BANK, 3 years in IT firm)
B.tech = 73 %
I did Distance PGDBA from Symbiosis with my initial working days(Which i feel useless).
Age = 27 years
GMAT not given yet.
Current CTC = 9 LPA
i have some basic queries..
1- What will be the best options available for my background ( one year full time MBA OR MBA with only weekend classes OR MBA with online classes) ?
2- Will it increase my paycheck ? how much i can expect ?
3- My 10 & 12th are 2nd class. Will it impact or consider ?

Need your help. I'm a commerce graduate with 15 years of experience in the BPO/outsourcing industry. In my current role as head-operations I'm responsible for a 500 FTE process for a UK insurance client. Could you advise whether a full time 1 year residential MBA option (IIM A/B/C) or an executive MBA (ISB-PGPMAX or similar) would be the right option. Have excluded ISB-PGP on the grounds of age and work exp.I'm 37 years of age and my current CTC is equivalent or slightly higher than the post 1 year MBA avg domestic salaries. I think this might create a hurdle in getting a placement later on?
My objectives are: knowledge, up-skilling myself for senior management roles, growth within the same organization/industry, better salary and network.
I'm unable to decide whether I should invest time in preparing for the GMAT and apply for 1 year full-time programs or executive MBA programs (which can be done while I continue to work).

What should be the post MBA career goal for someone who is an entrepreneur right now?
Is going to a VC/PE firm after MBA a long stretch?

My CV is as follows:
SSLC/10th (2003) - 89.92%
PUC/12th (2005) - 69% (dip in scores due to typhoid)
2005-2007 - Gap due to major accident and recovery period
BCA (2010) -88.92%
MBA (2012) - 79.16%
August 2012 - April 2013 - Started my own business in market research and successfully completed two projects.
April 2013- now - had a multiple organ failure and took a break
Apart from this some of my achievements are:
University rank holder- 2nd rank in MBA.
Topper of the batch 2010-2012 across specializations.
Awarded the “Best out-going student” of the batch 2010-2012, MBA, PES Institute of Technology.
Presented a paper on “Participatory Learning and Action” in the National Conference for Marketing to Rural India, May 2012.
Won several prizes for many cultural activities such as freestyle dance, choreography, street play, pictionary, dumb charades and debate in inter-collegiate fests.
Organized several events during the intra-college and inter-college fests held in our college.
Now main concern is even if I do extremely well in CAT, will the dip in my scores in 12th and the gaps, even though due to genuine health issues, become a hindrance in me getting a call from either IIMA or IIMB.
I'm appearing for CAT 2015 and would like to be a part of IIM batch 2016-18. Kindly guide me regarding the preparation required and whether I stand a chance in getting a call and converting it.

I am Kamlesh and I have completed M.Sc. (Organic chemistry) in 2006. I have total 9 years of experience in only Quality Control department in Chemical, Petrochemical industries and presently I am working in Oman as Quality control lab technician from last 3months.My job profile is to check quality of raw material, Finished product and in process samples and I am also responsible for the ISO9001,ISO14001,ISO18001 activities in plant. I have an experience of customer service in my previous company I handled customer complaint by providing technical solution regarding and also application of the product and I am an internal auditor of the IMS.
I would like to have an advice from you that should I go for an Executive –MBA from top school. If yes which streams should I select? I would like to do in Marketing but I don’t have core marketing experience but yes I have good knowledge of customer service and about most of the chemicals and instruments used in laboratory but after MBA will it difficult to find job in marketing for me please suggest. If I will do MBA in operation it will not give worth because again I am not operation person and not working in plant side.
With this experience I was getting only 7lac package in India and I am not satisfied with my career growth.
Please suggest should I go for an MBA with marketing so that I can find place in top chemical companies with good package.
Regards
Kamlesh

I'm 23 and a radio show producer at a radio station. I was a science student until HSC and then went for a graduation in mass media (BMM). I started working at a radio station alongside college when I was 19. By the time I graduated, I had completed 3 internships- 1 in a community radio station, 1 in a commercial radio station and 1 in a small ad agency. After graduation in 2012, I landed an internship with my current employer and have been promoted once after being hired post a year of paid internship.
I'm in a good place as far as my career is concerned but there is hunger to do something more and I can't place a finger on what exactly that 'more' is. Here are a few issues that I have with my current job:
1. I've been at the execution level for too long: Though taking up many internships has helped me in my career in a way that no college degree could have, it has also made me grow tired of being at the 'execution' and 'conceptualization' level of work. I have been churning out radio content everyday for the last 4 years. I like the fun in the medium but want to grow and do something more substantial. I think I am capable of more. I want to see myself at the 'strategy' level.
2. Same field for too long: Radio has been my passion since college. While I enjoy the fact that it is such a fast paced medium that requires me to be on my toes, I'd like to explore another field. I've been researching options like an MBA in Sustainability and CSR but don't know what the job prospects are after these courses.
Could you please guide me about the various MBA specializations in the US that will suit my profile?
Regards
Radio girl
