2-year Indian programs are meant for people with very little or no experience. So age does matter. If you are too old, you'll have trouble fitting in and also getting access to the right employers for the right role.
As far as learning goes, I personally feel jumping into an MBA program without having spent a substantial amount of time working in the corporate world, it is difficult to connect with or absorb the theoretical concepts taught in the class.

Jalal,
Yes, it's a good time to start planning for the MBA journey. Start off with an understanding of how international MBA programs operate - right from applications to job placements. Beyond The MBA Hype covers a lot of ground here.
Look at the latest Financial Times MBA Ranking to find out the top bschools in the region you are interested in.
Find out more about schools and their strengths. e.g. In the US, schools like MIT Sloan, Wharton, Stanford, Harvard are excellent in Operations management. But also evaluate if your profile competitive for these programs? If not, go a notch lower as there are several other programs you could consider.
Too early to talk about all that. Take it step by step.
Start off with GMAT preparation.

As far as MBA applications go, most US schools have Fall, Winter and Spring deadlines. But these programs start in Fall (in the subsequent year).
A few have a Spring intake, but they are ranked lower. I'm not aware of any top schools that have a winter intake.

Hope this finds you well! I wanted to get some feedback on my profile to figure out my target list of B-schools. Here goes:
Country: India
Age: 25 yrs
Gender: Female
Under-grad: B.A. Economics Honors
Gmat: 690
Work Exp: 5 yrs (with Google India throughout)
Dream Schools: Stanford, Kellogg, Dartmouth
Current Position: Account Manager - Mobile Sales, Google India (Jan, 2012 - to present)
In this role, I sell, execute and manage mobile display campaigns, while acting as a consultant for mobile search and display, within the Google sales teams. My main focus is on growing existing business through campaign management, relationship building and growing new businesses.
Previous Position: Executive Assistant & Project Manager, VP Media & Platforms Business, APAC Google (at the time Shailesh Rao who is now with Twitter as VP, International Operations) (Nov, 2009 - Jan, 2012).
In this role, I provided high-level administrative support to the APAC VP and the senior management team. I lead multiple regional large-scale, complex & deadline driven operations and projects (regional events & conferences). In this capacity, I also traveled across the APAC region and worked very closely with folks from different countries and cultures. I believe that that this particular role gave me a unique vantage point to closely observe the strategic thinking and execution skills of top Google executives, and in the process, every day has been an education.
Extra Curricular's: Good achievement in cultural activities, debates, theatre etc. I have been volunteering over the years with a school for less-privileged children.
I'm looking at B-school as a platform which will help me build new skills and give me an enriching experience (new ppl, new location, new study methods, valuable network) and more.
With my profile and scores, what possibilities do you see? Which schools do you think I should be looking at realistically?
Thank you so much for your help with this
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Niharika and Gaurav,
We do profile evaluations on another thread and we've temporarily stopped it for the following reason.
This thread (as the title suggests) is for general queries regarding bschools, financing and MBA scholarships.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I have mentioned the reason offline
Based on your reply
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7&start=40#p458
I have 1 question as of now..
Could you pls explain the 'brand' value that you are thinking of so that I can be more clear as to what we really do.
Any clarifications on the business front, will explain offline. Hope u understand.
Also, is it good to get a recommendation letter from one of the partners itself. I mean the person with the highest share in the company? Will that be valid enough..
Think I'm deviating the topic too much instead of preparation at this time but I'm simultaneously working out on other areas too.
Also at job, I do a client facing role with an UK customer and report to them directly. But the drawback here is that I work at offshore and not so sure of getting an onsite opportunity in the near future.. Will this give me a boost? Also, if I can convince one of the client, a Divisional Manager from UK to provide me a reco, will it be useful?
