You could get involved in local organisations and take up roles that involve interacting with people.
Expose yourself slowly to situations where you need to convince people/teams (students, sponsors, other stakeholders) to do something.
That experience would be more valuable in real life (not just MBA applications) than any certificate or formal recognition.

I see that Samrat has been considerate enough to provide his inputs. Also, this is not an area of expertise for me. So, with your permission, I'll skip these questions.

Sorry John, we focus only on GMAT MBA programs, so I can't help out with the ones you've listed. Try posting on Pagalguy where you'll find many discussions related to conventional Indian MBA courses.

Hi, everyone,
I am in a wierd dilemna. My options in the US are UMass Boston, Kelstadt Depaul and the Global Partners program at Georgia State. Out of these 3, I decided on Georgia State because it seemed add more value with the part of program being taught at other countries and also the chance to obtain multiple degrees.but now I have received an admit from SDA Bocconi.
SDA Bocconi seems to be a far better program as compared to Georgia State but I am just worried about the employment opportunities. I am from India and I do not speak Italian, I am aware that this puts me at a major disadvantage for employment in Italy.
Post MBA, my goal is to work for a top tier consulting firm. While these firms hire from SDA , language will be a big barrier for me. These firms do not seem to hire at all from Georgia State.Even with the current economic situation in Europe, should I still go ahead with SDA because of the reputation of the program (something that will stay on CV forever) as compared to Georgia State (which might be a safer option, comparatively, because US provides a lot more employment opportunities).
Also, SDA has an exchange program with some of the top schools in US. How realistic is it to expect that I'd be able to use that (2 months in US) effectively to pursue employment opportunities in the US? Or even apply directly after graduation to firms in the US without taking the exchange program?
Thanks!

Hi,
I appeared for GMAT second time and even after trying my best, scored 490 only. I got 45-Q and 18-Verbal. In my first attempt last year, I got 540.
Can I go now GRE now as I find GRE much easier for me than GMAT?
Sending GRE scores again when GMAT Scores(both attempts -- by default : GMAC) already submitted to same BSCHOOLS, how Adcom is going to react??
I am having 6.5 years of experience in Telecom Domain and targeting schools like SMEAL, Texas A&M, Wisconsin Madison, NUS, BYU.
Please suggest !!
Thanks,
Rohit

HI Sameer, I have started reading your book "Beyond the MBA Hype". It is full of information with the practicality, Not a theory-bookish kind of. Very nice book.
I have one Question regarding
ISB Hyderabad that If i get into ISB Hyderabad then can i get an international placement countries like USA and then settle there ?
Is that possible through ISB to settle in USA by getting international placement at ISB Hyd ?
How many peoples or percent get international placements ? Please clarify my doubt.

Hello Mr.Sameer,
I have completed my second year of undergraduate engineering at a Top15 engineering colleg(India).I have a strong interest in the finance/economics domain and am currently pursuing a research internship in economics at IIT,Kharagpur. I plan to take up internships to help me get an idea about how the world of finance works.I am aiming to go for a masters in the field of economics or finance (looking at a combined degree such as financial economics or M.Sc Finance and Economics). I have scored 95% in Class 10 and 12 and have maintained a GPA of 7.5+ ( I am confident of bridging it to 8).I plan to pursue an MBA,Finance after working in the banking field after my masters.
I don't see MBA as a mere stepping stone but feel that the skills required to drive organizations are different from the ones required to
work in a particular department. Also,I guess that the funding will not be a huge problem. However,I have heard views that it will be difficult to explain your decisions to the adcom if you already have a masters degree in the same field.I am banking on the fact that the masters is a stepping stone for me to enter the field given my technology major. If that will be a problem,do you think I should go for a consultant oriented degree such as Management Science and Engineering/Data Analytics, work in the financial services domain and then make a transition to MBA finance? If then, should I take care to see that my internship is in the strategy/operations role? And,how important are research internships when compared to corporate experience for a masters in the fields of finance(or consulting)?

Greetings Sir,
I have just completed my BBA degree with an average of 67% from Jadavpur university.
Class 10- 87%
Class 12- 91%
I've applied for a few one year diploma courses in marketing communication for the time being.
I wanted to know the value of UK MSc courses (1 year) from a good university in marketing/advertising as compared to an Indian MBA from a decent institute in terms of ROI.
Roughly 25 lakhs:20 lakhs (U.K MSc: Indian MBA)
Also, how difficult is it to secure a job in U.K after an MSc degree?
Is a one year masters irrelevant in the Indian job market?
Lastly, assuming that the diploma course makes complete 16 years of education for me, is the U.S a better option for management masters and subsequent job there?

My younger sister just completed her bachelors’ exams and wishes to pursue MBA from abroad. Is there any foreign university which would provide her with quality education and makes her experience abroad worth it? We are getting confused since there are so many MBA colleges and mere reading up about them on the net does not assure one of authentication. Genuine responses would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
