Hi MBA Crystal Ball,
I am having 3.9 years of experience and willing to pursue MBA side by side.
Please suggest if correspondence MBA is actually valuable for my career growth or it just add CV value.
If doing correspondence MBA is a good selection please could you guide how to proceed with it or good MBA colleges which provide beneficiary courses for managerial posts.
Regards,
Reha Singh

Dear sir,
This is Manoj from TamilNadu. I am a M.Tech Holder in VLSI Design. B.E in EEE. I am presently working in an Engineering College as an Assistant Professor for the past 3 years. I have 3+ years of experience. Presently I am planning to pursue MBA instead of PhD as I have no interest in teaching anymore. I just want to work in a world class environment. Is it possible for me to get a MBA seat in a good college? Will teaching experience be counted for MBA Admissions? I have been asking this question to many and even surfing in the net, but till date I couldn't find a correct suggestion for this.
Please help me with this. I am even ready to resign my job and do a 6 months practice for cracking GMAT, once i am sure that teaching experience is counted for MBA. Also my academic record is not that great. around 66 in masters and UG. 80 in 10th and 70 in 12th. Kindly clarify my doubt. thanks in advance...
Regards,

Sure, it'll be counted, as any full-time work would be. You'd be better equipped to compete with other applicants if you had some administrative and managerial exposure in addition to your teaching experience.
You'd also need to articulate how your teaching experience or any other skills you've picked up, would be relevant to your next job.

You haven't mentioned what your post MBA goals are, so going purely on brand + reputation, I'd vote for Eller.
Wondering why they didn't just give a 100% scholarship. 80% and 64% leaves things dangling, though not much of a difference in financial terms.

Hi Sameer,
My post mba goal is to go in the domain of IT consulting. Also, as Eller is in Tucson there are limited job opportunities there. Then why do you prefer Eller?
Also, UTD is in Dallas and is in a central location.
Please guide on this..
Thanks,
Gayatri

Sure, location does matter. But a stronger brand can help in reaching out to more employers across locations.
In this case, the brand differential isn't as dramatic as Harvard vs UTD, where the brand has an instant recall even across countries.
For IT roles, mobility is less of an issue (unlike say, Investment banking) as you'll find tech management jobs across the country.
If your dream companies come to campus at UTD, your choice is easier. If not, be open to MBA jobs across USA.
