Apologies. Got too may pending emails and posts to clear [peak season!].cmvt wrote:Would colleges understand that my initials in certificates were expanded in the passport?
Should not be a big issue. But I still have the same suggestion for you - get in touch with the admissions team and let them know upfront. Stick to email, so you have a trail as evidence, in case some issue pops up later.

Greetings for the day!
This mail is to seek your valuable inputs on executive MBA offered by overseas B Schools (part time ones) currently available in India. Similar to the ones by MIT, Insead etc.
How do you rate them? When do you recommend them? Under what circumstances do they help a candidate?
I am an Engg MBA with over 17 yrs exp (1998 batch PGDIM fm NITIE) in industry evaluating the option to do similar such an ex MBA, one which a candidate can do without taking a sabbatical from this current professional engagement.
Primary reason is to remain professionally relevant in todays fast changing corporate world.
Will be glad in case you can be of help.
In anticipation,
Thanks,
Rajat

Hi Rajat,rajasoma27 wrote:How do you rate them? When do you recommend them? Under what circumstances do they help a candidate?
The academic quality and content of such programs (whether it's international brands or Executive MBA from IIM (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta)) is generally good.
However, it's more suited for folks who've reached a certain level without a prior background in business.
In your case, I'd think the value would be lesser as you already have an MBA.
You'd be spending a lot of money, but ending up in a class that'll start from the basics for the benefit of others who have no clue what a balance sheet is, how SWOT analysis works and what the 4Ps of Marketing entail.
Professional relevance can be tackled without an MBA.rajasoma27 wrote:Primary reason is to remain professionally relevant in todays fast changing corporate world.
For instance, you could consider avenues (conferences, seminars, MOOCs) that are more aligned with your specific career goals.
Also start building your independent online reputation as a subject matter expert.
If you need some help with the last point, I'd be happy to provide you a (free) platform to share your knowledge.

I have a total experience of 8+ years and currently working in one of the top IT company as a marketing manager. I did get a chance to work in an International location as well. MBA hype or pressure doesn't leave me with the flexibility of picking up a good job or a good salary reason and that's the reason MBA. I would be interested in One Year Post-Graduate Programme in Management instead of two considering my age and my responsibilities.
So I have a few questions, and would be great if you can help me answer the following:
I would need your advise on the SOIL- School of Inspired Leadership and was interested in pursuing Business Leadership Program (BLP) with specialization in Marketing. Do you think its worth the fees that they charge against the placements that they offer.
Also, if you can offer your assistance in terms of the other good universities in India who provide One Year Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Executives with good course for Marketing and placements.
Is there a good university that offer the same course without GMAT or CAT?
Your expert opinion is appreciated.
Regards

Sorry, we don't have any insights about the program. Folks who approach us for formal help don't have it on their list.Bablie wrote:I would need your advise on the SOIL- School of Inspired Leadership ...Do you think its worth the fees that they charge against the placements that they offer.

None that we know of. Be careful with institutes that make it easy to enrol.Bablie wrote:Is there a good university that offer the same course without GMAT or CAT?
Btw, not sure if you've seen it, but MG has responded to your earlier query on the Profile evaluation thread.

I would like to take consultation for MBA B- School admissions.
My GMAT and basic profile is as follows :
GMAT score : 620 (Q50, V25, IR7)
B.Tech ( Electrical) GPA: 7.61/10
Graduated in : 2013
Work Profile : Working for Larsen & Toubro. Deputed in Malaysia since 2013. Part of International Sales Team and responsible for sales of three countries : Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain. Responsible for a sales budget of 80 Million USD.
I am also a certified Scuba Diver.
Targeted Schools :
Considering the scores, I can only target HKUST Hongkong, Schulich Canada etc.
Kindly advise if I can get a B School at this profile and at this GMAT score.

Thanks for your response. Please guide me on the National Management Programme (NMP) and the PGPM (Part- Time) Programme from MDI. How do you see these two programs?
I heard about issues faced by the student with regards to the placement and idea how are they doing now. Do they offer any assitance for the part time course.
Looking into my experience of 8+ years what would you suggest.
Also would be great if you can comment on the difficulty level of the MDI test.
