Thanks for your response.
What about AIM Manila and Hong KOng University (HKU)
Are these good options for me and will i have a realistic chance to get in.
Thanks

Prakash,
These should be within reach. But make sure you check out employment opportunities since language and other issues may be critical here.

I am 26 years old and I have 9 months of GMAT coaching experience under my belt . I got 760 on my last GMAT mock test. Also, I am going to apply to Teach For India for its fellowship program. Is there any chance of me getting into ISB, Hyderabad or SP Jain, Mumbai with this profile?
Hi,
If you mean to say for the regular full time programs, then it is unlikely. Reason being less years of experience and not the usual corporate one at that. If you meant the YLP, maybe.

I’m aiming for an MBA in Entrepreneurship for the overall immersive learning experience, including the skills I learn, the projects I work on with teams.
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT in 2012, 8.5/10.0 CGPA.
770 in GMAT.
I have worked in a company designing mobile chipsets & now in another company designing WiFi signal processing algorithms, both of which are leaders in these respective fields. I plan to apply for MBA for Fall 2016, by which time I would have 2 years exp of both domains/companies.
target schools are Stanford, Haas, MIT Sloan, HBS, Wharton, Kellogg.
My goal, 6 years from now is to expand my father's business of Security systems, control systems & also expand / start new venture towards wireless devices.
I'm also involved with my company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) group to interact with urban poor, which I would build upon later to get to know the problems poor face which could be solved using technology.
I’m a musician, and I have been playing the synthesizer since childhood. My other hobbies are keeping fit, trekking & cycling, martial arts, studying practical psychology.

I am Vindhya. I am a qualified Project management professional with 4.5 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech industry in India ( Aurigene Discovery Technologies Ltd, subsidiary of Dr. Reddy Labs, Hyderabad). I have led many leadership initiatives at my workplace in addition to excelling in my role ( handling drug discovery collaboration projects for Pharma clients in US, Europe and South East Asia).By education, I have completed my Master's at NUS ( dept of biological sciences) and B.Engg from VTU, India. I would like to take up Strategy and Operations role post MBA, either by moving to management consulting role for few years before moving back to Pharma industry or directly into a global Pharma MNC post MBA. I wanted to pursue NUS/NTU-MBA, because as an NUS alumni, i feel NUS/NTU and Singapore are a good fit for me in many ways. However, I had a few questions before I decide on my next steps. Request your opinion/suggestions.
1) I am planning to apply to NUS for full time MBA program for Aug 2015. My understanding is that most students who apply to NUS want to pursue finance and management consulting as their career post MBA. I wanted to know what % of students are from Pharma/Biotech background every year and how is the placement scenario/ support if one wants to continue in the same industry ( such as GSK, Roche, Novartis) at Singapore.
2) How will the Adcom view my profile if I pitch that I want to move into management consulting for few years (2-3) focusing on Pharmaceutics before I make a move back to my specific industry as a Project/Program manager of a business vertical. Let me know your opinion/suggestions.
3) How does NUS support me in case I want to look at opportunities in India immediately after my studies.(Reason : I have a year old son. So I need to be open about coming back to India in case my spouse does not find job opportunities in Singapore)
Thank you very much for your valuable time and feedback.
Best regards,
Vindhya

Dear Brio,
Here are a few reflections for you:
- Congrats on a fantastic GMAT score. That alone is sure to make heads turn. The fact that you are working in a domain where you did your education will also be favorable. It shows good continuity
- The plan you have in mind is an interesting one. But you havent mentioned what you intend to do immediately after the MBA. That will be a critical connecting point between your current job and the rationale for an MBA. Some would argue that if you eventually want to go back to your business, why waste time in other places. That is something to think and ponder on deeper
- The ECs sound good. My advise usually there is to focus on a few rather than do all. 2 things done better and deeper is far better than doing 10 things and begin a jack at all.

Directly jumping on the questions you raise Vindhya:
- This information is available on the school website right? Check here and here. For an exact % split of the current class with Pharma background, best to check directly with the adcom. But in general, this tends to be a small minority
- It will be premature for me to comment on the right goals story for you within the constraint of this forum Vindhya. Suffice it to say however that many people move out of Consulting after a few years; so long as you can justify it to a future recruiter, you should be able to justify it to an adcom too. Questions you should be asking is - why waste time in consulting? Why leave consulting and instead, not do work in pharma consulting for instance?
- I dont think the NUS career cell will be of much support. You will have to rely on your own network to do that. In terms of brand recall though, NUS is a fairly well known brand in the country so that shouldnt be a major issue.
Cheers,

All the best!
Thank you. I would like to get into managing Tech companies or consulting to Tech companies immediately after an MBA. I'm also open to working in start-ups that I might've opened with batchmates. All this would give me a good managerial learning experience on-job which otherwise I wouldn't get for 10+ years in an engineering job.

I had the opportunity to improve work style of others by making Excel trackers which facilitated their work, improved the

I think I have found the right fit in Operations Management and would like to improve my skills further with an MBA. An MBA is also required as I have clearly understood the innate skills I posses in terms of Creativity, Leadership and passion to succeed with unyielding Ethics and Integrity and with a little more advice in the form of a management education I believe that I will definitely enter to an other level in this Business World.
Pls let me know your thoughts on
1.my overall profile
2.what schools I can aim at
3. areas of improvement
4. How can I make this profile more interesting ( what can I do now with another 8 months remaining like extra curricular activities etc.)
Thanks a lot for your time and patience!!

Performed role of a Project manager for 6 months at offshore and performed various roles as a business analyst and Technical lead
I am currently in US with a valid H1 Visa. I came to US on a L1 visa and applied for a H1 visa as i came to understand that valid US visa is a real concern for people
who complete MBA in US. I applied for a H1 this april and luckily got picked up. Left Capgemini last month due to my change in Visa status.
Currently, in a contracting role as a functional consultant.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Subject Matter Expert in Credit Card systems
* Client engagement and opportunity creating initiatives
* Pre-sales activities
Achievements:
Received Top talent award for being in the top 5% of the talent pool and for exemplary contribution in HSBC Account (1500-2000+ associates) for 4 continuous years. It has been a good growth
in Capgemini.
Have got promoted every 2-3 years consistently with high ratings.

* Some awards at school and college level in sports (Cricket & Volleyball) and inter school/college competitions.
* Hiking (have covered almost all the hiking spots in HK) and adventure sports (Bungee, Sky diving). Scuba diving is next on my list.
Target school:
Considering my age, i am either looking for a 1-year or a part-time MBA. Below are the schools i am planning to apply for R2
ISB
IIM A (PGPX) - next year
NUS
HUlt
Booth (part time)
Kellogs (part time)
UCLA (part time)
Target post-MBA work: Strategy, general management in a Technology major.
Outside of work: Strong believer in child education and rural empowerment. I have an idea of self empowered schools in rural areas that can have free education and achieve self
sufficieny in food, water, electricity in-house. i have kept myself a 10-year target to kick start that project.
Questions:
1. Kindly suggest me some schools that fit my profile and post MBA goals. Also, please let me know what is lacking in my profile fit for an MBA in a premier institute
and some suggestions to fill those gaps
2. For someone with my experience, is it worth it to try for ISB?
3. What other schools should I target? I am more interested in 1 year MBA. Two main reasons for not considering a 2-year MBA is the age and the cost
Thanks,
Abhi
